Something Different
“I’m trying something different …”
It is an answer I often give to questions such as:
“What is that for?”
“Why do you have X on your desk?”
“What are you doing with Y?”
It is a bit like being a scientist of life, always curious and experimenting to see what works better for me. A tweak in a system here. A new idea implemented there. All with the intent of learning, improving and growing in different parts of work and life.
I can think of experiments I did decades ago which now exist as a daily practice or habit. And, along with it, the too-large-to-remember number of ones that were tried, modified or let go.
Life is uncertain.
Most of what we do isn’t as high-stakes as we like to, or have been led to, believe.
Everything can be experimented with.
Which makes me wonder, if you were to put on the scientist of life hat, what is something different you might try today?
