Brain Stories

Give your brain a story.

Author Daniel Pink reminds us of the psychology of fresh starts, in that they give our brain a story: that was the old me, this is the new me.

How might we use that story?

Feeling stuck.

Procrastinating.

Navigating regret.

Mental blocks.

Overwhelm.

And, more.

All of these things can benefit from the notion of a fresh start.

The good thing being that a fresh start doesn’t have to involve a momentous act.

The story you might give your brain is as simple as:

This morning’s me did … This afternoon’s me is doing …

Yesterday’s me wasted time. Today’s me is focused.

Now me cannot see the answer. Now me is taking a walk around the block to clear my head.

Fresh starts are found in all manner of stories. I’m curious what story could be the fresh start your brain needs.
