Prepared Enough
Failing to prepare
is preparing to fail.
We’ve all heard this quote many times, and can see how it rings true in different parts of work and life.
Of course, there are some (many) things that we can never be fully prepared for.
We humans* don’t know everything (no, really, we don’t!);
nothing is completely certain; and
(I’ve said it once, I’ll say it one-thousand times) control is an illusion.
What we do is give enough time and thought to what is before us, and we
contemplate,
explore,
anticipate,
analyse,
research,
ideate,
reflect,
study,
discuss,
practice, and
get as ready as we can.
Are we ready enough to avoid ‘failure’?
Probably not. Although when our friend Murphy pops in to say hello, we are ready to say hello back, and to navigate the unpreparedness.
I’d say that makes us ready for anything, don’t you agree?!
*or the human wannabes 😉
