Who Are You?
Who are you?
It’s not a facetious question, I promise.
We talk a lot about values, authenticity, integrity, and ‘keeping it real’ in many different parts of work and life.
Ironically, though, work and life is increasingly performative.
I reflected on this while listening to Mirka Federer introduce her husband, Roger, during his induction into the tennis hall of fame.
She relayed that she is proudest not for what he ‘accomplished when the world was watching, it’s who he is when nobody is watching’.
Who we are.
It is what matters. To us, and to those closest to us.
I believe it is always a good time to ask ourselves: who am I when nobody is watching?
I’m curious what your answer might be.
