Start With Ease

Ah, the gravitational pull of Mondays …

In his novel, The Humans, author Matt Haig suggests Mondays are like “a collapsed star in the week’s solar system, with an excessive gravitational pull.”

One minute we are relaxing through a Sunday, and in the next we find ourselves hurtling through the start of the working week.

Of course, if Monday was a collapsed star we might find that resistance is futile.

Instead, I wonder how we might ease into the start of the week with intention and equanimity.

Allowing time for thought and planning;

staying true to our rhythms and routines; and

looking forward to the day and week with enthusiasm and joy,

are just a few ways we might resist the gravitational pull of a Monday in full force.

What say you? I’m curious, how do you ease into your week?
