Solution Found
I found it …
The solution - for a persistent and complex question - appeared while I went about finishing a different task.
It felt like chance and serendipity at play. I am sure they contributed, along with something else.
What is that ‘something else’?
Being clear on the context and purpose, despite not having an obvious solution.
Giving enough time to deeply think about the problem.
Seeding thoughts, ideas and alternate questions.
Stepping away from direct effort at problem solving.
Having systems for information and ideas.
Playing and experimenting with information and ideas.
Following a consistent set of rhythms, routines and rituals.
Remaining constantly curious and open to ‘distraction’.
Noticing.
Reflecting.
Celebrating.
And, more.
Whatever the unique mix of factors at play in this particular scenario, how affirming is it to see solutions come out of ‘nowhere’?!
