Impossible change …

is there such a thing?

Some days it feels as though it is.

I recently experienced the ‘impossible’ feeling when I decided to replace a regular purchase with something better. Having discovered some new information, I wanted to ensure that any future purchases align with my values in this regard.

Simple, I thought, I can now purchase an item with better ingredients and manufacturing process. In practice, this hasn’t proven simple at all. Yes, the products exist - hence making this change is possible - but they are not readily accessible, and in some cases may prove cost prohibitive.

So it feels as though this ‘simple’ change is impossible to enact.

When barriers to change arise it can derail our motivation and determination for the change. It can push the change into the too hard basket. It can make us feel disillusioned and to, ultimately, give up.

I’ve had to enact my super power of stubbornness and persistence for this seemingly impossible change.

I’ve taken a moment to pause and reflect on the change. I’ve had to feel the impossible feeling and keep going. I’ve had to consider different options to make it happen. I’ve had to be patient and trust that it is possible after all.

I’m not there yet, but I am on my way.

I’m curious how you deal with the impossible change you are seeking to make.
