Realise Change

Most people don’t realise …

The caption on the ad caught my attention, as was intended. It also got me thinking.

Generalisations are, of course, general …

and …

generalisations can have some truth to them.

The kernel of truth in the statement that most people don’t realise might be found in the sneaky manner of change.

Things have a way of creeping up on us.

Little by little,

day by day,

step by step,

things change.

These changes are seemingly invisible in their parts,

and mammothly different in their whole.

We may find ourselves wondering - or exclaiming aloud - where did that come from?

Only to look back, reflect and join the dots, and to say,

ah yes, it was there to be seen,

and I noticed (and experienced) the small steps,

and perhaps next time I will also notice the whole.

Most people may not realise change is happening.

I’m curious what might change when we do.
