Ready & Not Ready
We can be ready and not ready.
I’m ready to start …
I’m ready for a change …
I’m ready to move …
These words can leave our lips as truths and yet our actions may belie them.
Could it be the resistance that author Steven Pressfield writes about?
Could it be the related but slightly different concept of fear that teacher and ruckus-maker Seth Godin speaks of?
Could it be any, or all, of the usual suspects of overwhelm, lack of clarity, and a dose of procrastination?
Could it be something uniquely your own?
We can say we’re ready, feel we’re ready, and know - deep in our bones - that we are ready, and we can encounter one or more of the realities of not being ready.
Accepting this paradoxical, and often frustrating, reality is helpful. With it in mind we can work our way through our days with the confidence of being ready, while chipping away at what makes us not-quite ready.
Each time we do, we move closer to making change happen.
Now that is something I’m ready for; how about you?
