Inner Knowing
What do the sayings
FOMO
and
the grass is always greener
have in common?
A rhetorical question perhaps as I ponder how enticing it can be to seek external ways to meet our needs.
When we wrap our
worth,
happiness,
contentment,
learning,
belonging,
and so forth,
into that which only others can provide,
we leave ourselves susceptible to
over … commitment/work/play/exercise,
stress,
and burnout.
And that’s before we consider our vulnerability to the messages and manipulation from those who seek to profit from our FOMO.
The truth is that deep down, we each know what meets our own needs, and when we stay true to ourselves, we can confidently navigate the FOMO and lure of greener grass we experience every day.
In times of change and uncertainty, inner knowing and conviction might be just the change we need, don’t you agree?!
