Have Your Say …
Have your say …
The direct call for feedback has never been greater as digital polls, surveys and feedback forms are ubiquitous in our everyday interactions.
And yet, in a reverse-scarcity-mindset sort of way, the more feedback we have available to us, and the more often we are asked to provide feedback, the less value we place in it.
We end up in a performative loop where providing the opportunity to ‘have your say’ on matters big and small, attaching the feedback form after every interaction with a customer, or consulting with people over upcoming change, becomes an exercise in ‘ticking the box’.
Feedback, though, is a core human need. It helps us to survive and thrive, learn and grow in all facets of work and life.
Perhaps it is time to be more discerning and put the value back in feedback, don’t you agree?!
