Future Fictions

Seek out the ‘future fictions’.

In his book, The Humans, author Matt Haig lists his character’s 97 pieces of ‘advice for a human’.

Number 6: Be curious. Question everything. A present fact is just a future fiction.

Of course number 6 resonates with this curious cat 😉

After all, things are always changing, we are always discovering and learning, and our perspectives ever-shifting.

We humans are walking and talking paradoxes.

We think we know.

We believe there is a truth.

We feel comfortable with certainty and stability.

It can be tempting to stay in that place.

Yet when we remain open and curious, comfortable in not knowing, excited and energised by the act of seeking out the new and different, we can find meaning and joy in so many parts of our work and life.

There’s much advice to be found on how to human.

Staying curious and open to discovering ‘future fictions’ is one I like to practice every day. How about you?
