Everyday Gratitude

I’m grateful for …

In my shared daily gratitude practice the benefits come as much from reading and reflecting on the gratitudes shared each day by others as they do from my own.

What is evident is that most gratitude comes from the everyday moments.

Yes, there are occasions on which they could make the cut of an Instagram post or a LinkedIn humble brag, but mostly gratitude is found in the things that could easily go unnoticed.

Cups of hot tea.

The warmth of sun shine through a window.

A quieter day.

Getting in touch with a friend.

Puppies playing together.

And so on, and so forth.

Dr Martin Seligman often writes of the positive benefits from a daily ritual of identifying 3 things we are grateful for.

In his, and many others work, it becomes apparent that gratitude begets gratitude. Over time we become increasingly attuned to spotting things we are grateful for, and our behaviours align to this mindset.

Gratitude is a practice that helps us make change for us, those around us, and for a better world.

I’m curious, how might you build a gratitude ritual into your day?
