Do What It Takes

Doing what it takes,

means different things to different people.

Recalling the story of the South Korean woman who received her driver’s license after 960 attempts, I am reminded: there is persistence and then there is PERSISTENCE.

In a world that is quick to sell us shortcuts and hacks and speed and immediacy and all that comes with the productivity-obsessed approach to work and life, it is somewhat refreshing - albeit astounding - to see someone do what it takes to achieve something.

I’m not sure that I want, or need, to drive enough to attempt a driving test 960 times, yet there are other pursuits I am interested in, as I am sure there is for you, too.

And, as the saying goes, if you want something enough …

we can muster the time and patience, dedication and focus, and determination and resolve to do what it takes.

Which makes me curious, what is that ‘do what it takes’ something for you?
