Closing Time

It’s time to close …

… the open tabs

… the outstanding to-do’s

… the unfinished document

… the unread book

… the blank page

… the laptop

And whatever else remains open, and in progress, as we round out another working week.

As we take the time to close such things we get the opportunity to reflect, take stock and celebrate what the week has been. We get to reconnect with what we have learned and discovered. We get to exhale and let go (for now) of what we are holding.

Within the act of closing there is acceptance and surrender. The (often invisible) weight is lifted.

It is the act of putting our needs and ourselves first.

It’s not always easy to do and yet it is always worth it.

I’m curious, what are you closing today?
