Yet To Learn

I’m yet to learn …

Four words that power my everyday curiosity and attention.

The biggest mistake we can make in our work and lives is to assume we have all the knowledge.

When we think (or say)

I went to school so I know …

I have a university degree so I know …

I have the answer from that book, AI search, or [fill in the blank]

I have all of this experience so I know …

we are closing ourselves off to what there is yet to learn.

Every single day we bring the knowledge we have in this moment to whatever it is we are doing. When we couple it with a curious approach by remaining open, asking questions and paying attention, our knowledge cumulates, widens and deepens. We are learning and growing.

I recently heard author and speaker, Lisa O’Neil state that:

Every person you come into contact with has something to teach you.

What a rich source of things we are yet to learn.

Perhaps if we’re looking for

a new perspective,

a different option,

a recently discovered solution,

an out-of-the-box idea,

some updated knowledge and discoveries,

or more,

we may find it from a fellow human today.

Now that has me curious; how about you?
