Where’s The Joy?
Where’s the joy?
It wasn’t with the various office workers congregating at the traffic crossing at the end of the work day.
They appeared to be carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders as I passed by them.
I heard the joy before I saw it. Being carried on the shoulders of her father, a young girl exclaiming ‘high-five’ to passersby.
Hand raised I was happy to be one of only a few to extend a high-five to her and two other family members who were enjoying the fun.
They laughed as they walked on by.
A giveaway that they were more likely to be holiday goers than office dwellers.
And yet, joy is not reserved for a tiny slither of our lives. We don’t need to pack it away when it is time to return to work.
As I smile remembering this joy-filled family, I’m curious how we might bring more of that joy to the day, whatever it holds. How about you?
