What We See

Do you see what I see?

A question often answered with a

no,

maybe,

a little,

somewhat,

kind of, and sometimes,

yes, I do.

As Henry David Thoreau wrote: the question is not what you look at, but what you see.

We humans can look at the exact same thing and see something completely different. Our worldviews drive much of our perception and interpretation across our work and lives, and it goes without saying that each 8 billion+ of us have a slightly - or completely - different one.

All the more reason to use, and improve, our listening, curiosity and questioning, empathy and understanding skills.

I assume you don’t see what I see, and I’m curious, what it is that you do. How about you?
