Top Of The Mountain

The top of the mountain is narrow. All the life is on the sides.

These words from author Brad Stulberg are not suggesting that we avoid aiming for the top. Doing so can provide us with direction and purpose, and the view - reward - from the top can be stunning.

But if we narrow our gaze and only focus on that one destination, then there is a lot of life we’re missing out on.

And, if we don’t happen to reach the top the disappointment and sense of failure can send us into a tailspin.

Of course, little of what we encounter in work and life is binary. We can enjoy the journey and the destination. How good is that?!
