Power Of Patience
Patience is underrated.
In our 24/7, busy-as-a-badge, move fast and break things world, patience often gets left behind. Sometimes it is an oversight as we humans get swept up in things and inadvertently decide that is just how it is in the world today. Sometimes patience is sneered at as a relic of a bygone era, and people feel old-fashioned (or old) for insisting that patience is important.
I stumbled across these words from poet Darby Hudson: It took me decades to learn a patience that forgot it was waiting.
A reminder that life moves in its own time. There will always be things that are operating from a long term perspective. There will always be benefits that come from a pause, from paying attention, spending time in reflection, and bringing thoughtfulness and care to whatever we do.
We can continue to be in a hurry, and endeavour to push against the natural order of things, and patience will find us.
There is much to do. I’m curious how we might discover the patience needed for the things that matter.
