Learning And Play

Learning is play,

just as play is learning.

Yes, there are different ways to find our way to the outcome we seek.

New skills or knowledge can come when we jump in, boots and all, and do the thing, or at least try to do the thing. We’re learning on the go, by trial and error and experimenting along the way.

Other times we feel the need to seek out informal and formal sources of that knowledge, the expert advice, or the how to manual, before we start.

We curious, life-long learners don’t tend to see this as hard work, tedious or a ‘have-to’. It is a source of enjoyment, satisfaction and fun; it is play.

Today I chose to follow the tutorials for a piece of software I have used for many years (and played my way to learning). What fun it is to discover the extra features that will make my life easier, and now to get to play and learn more.

I’m curious, what play and learning have you been up to today?
