Impatient Lesson

Impatience …

is a lesson.

It shows up when I’m not feeling at my best.

I need to do x,

I want it done now, and

I want it to be simple.

Enter the shortcuts, the grimaces, and the frustrated toe-taps.

Quelle surprise, I exclaim as things go awry.

And, so I slow down,

work through the problems (of my own making), and

feel the panic subside.

A little forced patience is just what I need to (again) learn the lesson that impatience teaches me.

I’m curious, what - if any - lessons have you learned from impatience?
