Further Together
We all need a support crew.
As the end of this year’s Tour de France edges closer, I find myself thinking about the enormous numbers of cyclists and non-cycling crew whose role is to support the top riders in the race.
I’m reminded of this part of an African proverb that says “if you want to go far, go together”.
It gives me pause to be grateful for all of those we are in it together with.
The many supporters and cheerleaders who can see our vision as clear as we do, and at times, even clearer. Those who are willing observers and mirrors to our ideas and actions, providing inspiration, motivation and determination along the way. Those who lend a hand when we stumble or get stuck, and lend a voice when ours goes quiet. Those who will celebrate the milestones and achievements along the path.
Our support crew is vital to whatever endeavour is before us.
If we’re fortunate - for which I am - we have a support crew filled with more people than we can name. As the week comes to a close, I am grateful for each of them - for you - and look forward to going further together.
