Discovering Treasures
What’s under the rock?
I watched the two small children playing in the park, curiously peeking under the rocks, and excitedly chattering about their discoveries.
Living in Australia does increase the likelihood of unexpected (read: scary) surprises lurking under rocks, and perhaps as we get older our actions may be tempered by this thought.
What if we were to retain the curiosity and courage of our younger selves, and bring that to different aspects of our work and life?
Where might we find amazing discoveries under those proverbial rocks?
Yes, it might feel scary to bring our curiosity and questions into our adult lives. Perhaps it is the anticipation of a negative reaction from others, or the expectation that we should already know. Perhaps we wonder if we really do want to know the answers; or perhaps we know that if something scary awaits us, we will need to take action.
Yet when we approach work and life like a treasure hunt, ready to make interesting and intriguing discoveries, we might just find the learning, growth and fun is worth it, don’t you agree?!
