Constraints Abound

Constraints abound,

in all parts of our work and life.

And as authors Adam Morgan and Mark Barden remind us in their book, constraints can be beautiful.

Limitations in …

time,

resources,

energy,

and, as per my latest example,

a fully functional kitchen,

can provide us with the opportunity to innovate and problem solve away what might have felt like an impossible situation.

The book provides examples of how reframing statements of “I can’t because …” to “I can if …” helps us to see different options and what is possible.

Such a simple flip, don’t you agree, and one I’ll be applying when making my next meal.

I’m curious, how might you reframe one of the beautiful constraints you encounter this coming week?
