Are We Ready?

Are we ready?

A question asked ahead of the family gathering.

A question asked at many different times in a year, and a lifetime.

It can be difficult to know if we are ready, no matter how many lists we make, how much reflection and analysis is done, and how many questions we ask in the discernment process.

And whether the ‘ready’ we seek is hosting lunch, or switching jobs, or starting that dream project, or [fill in the blank] of wishes and changes, it remains the same feeling.

Chances are that despite the preparation and planning, we will be missing an ingredient for our lunch.

But we will proceed nonetheless.

Because we are as ready as we are .. for lunch and life.
