All To Gain
What have you got to lose?
When asked this question, regardless of context, we can quickly go into brainstorming mode and come up with a long list of things we have to lose.
We can shorten our list considerably by asking the follow up question of:
What have you really got to lose?
The list can be shortened again by asking:
What are the consequences of losing [fill in the blank]?
Our list can be further modified when we ask:
What have you got to gain?
Yes, we can find many a reason (and excuse) not to do the thing.
And if it is important to us, we can find many a reason why we can.
Okay, I’m going to do it. Are you?
